Record-breaking Bizwiki Update Completed

The latest version of Bizwiki has just gone live –and it’s a record breaker!

This new update to the site was a colossal undertaking, combining updates submitted by many of the site’s users and manual changes made by the editorial team over the last few months with a huge update across all categories of business using the Bizwikibot spider. The result is not just more up-to-date company records, but a greater depth and breadth of business information is now available to our site’s users than ever.

A grand total of 4,936,758 existing businesses on Bizwiki have had their information edited and updated. This includes manually added content, address changes, telephone and contact detail updates and map location changes.

A remarkable 5,068,071 new businesses have been added to Bizwiki, in many cases completely with in-depth information. This means that the site is now larger and covers the country more comprehensively than ever.

1,367,582 of the old businesses on the site have been marked as obsolete and deleted. This includes businesses that have closed down over during the last couple of tumultuous years, but also companies that have transformed, been renamed or relaunched in new business categories.

There have been a number of dedicated people involved in these updates, changes and the reorganisation over the last six months, but the lion’s share of the credit has to go to our Chief Technical Architect Keith Hinde, who has really pulled out all the stops to make this happen.

And of course, we’d like to say a special thank you to all the many visitors who have helped by adding, editing and increasing the amount of useful information on the site. That especially applies to business owners and representatives who have pitched in to help improve the online profile of their own companies – nobody knows your business better than you, and on the behalf of the Bizwiki team I’d like to thank you for sharing your knowledge with all our site’s users.

    The correct business name for the company
    Multi Treatments Ltd showing on Bizwiki header should be the following
    Multi-Treatments Limited
    Address
    44 Kirkwood Way
    Cookridge
    Leeds
    West Yorkshire
    Ls16 7EX

    Would a Bizwiki editor change the header to the correct company name

    The company name is showing but just need to put the dash between the multi and treatments so it shows like this at the heading

    Hi Bizwiki Support
    Thank you for amending our company name.
    I have noticed that when you click on Bizwiki listing page our profile page can not be found.
    I typed in to Google search bar for Multi-Treatments Limited and clicked on the Bizwiki up dated page, on the click through it is saying no page can be found for Multi-Treatments Limited.
    This might be that Google has not crawled the updated page yet or another reason, can you take a look please.

    I am sorry, the link I gave you above was for your old listing. When a company name is updated on Bizwiki the listing url changes. Your new listing url is http://www.bizwiki.co.uk/damp-proofing/1571745/multitreatments-limited.htm.

    Google has now spidered and indexed the new page but has yet to purge the old one from its index.

    Thanks for your comments. We review each submission manually to ensure accuracy and compliance with our guidelines. While I understand that the extra time this takes can sometimes be frustrating, it results in much more reliable information for those that use Bizwiki to find businesses.

    Your submission for instance was missing the website address in the field that would provide users with the ability to click on your website and be taken directly to your site. I have now added that in, reviewed the rest of the submitted details and approved your listing which you can see here http://www.bizwiki.co.uk/node/1937783 It should be visible on the other sites that use Bizwiki’s data within the next 7 days.

    I have edited the new information myself on the profile page but still waiting for the change as it has not yet been reviwed by Bizwiki editors for quite sometime now.Can one of the Bizwiki editors put the correct address and telephone number on the profile page please

    Hello have just read other comments, I had email today saying you were removing my entry on your site…I do not know why and when I have tried to reinstate myself I cannot get my user name to be accepted!!! I have sent emails to you and hope it is not my competitors altering my registration.
    Please will you reinstate me as I am a sole trader and in todays climate we all need to have help in the market place

    Thanks for the comment and email. Rest assured that there is no competitor led deleting going on. Approvals and rejections can only be done by our own staff.

    It is possible that the moderator who reviewed your original submission could not at that time find enough evidence to support the approval of your entry. I note that even on the one you submitted yesterday you did not add your website and since you did not supply a full address either it would have been very difficult to ascertain the validity of the record.

    Since your blog comment here had your website address I have been able to verify and approve your new submission and it’s live here http://www.bizwiki.co.uk/taxi-private/1945102/mums-taxi.htm. It should appear on the other sites that use Bizwiki data within 7 working days.

    Thank you for approving the revised edited page back in January 2013 and the new address for my company Multi-Treatments Limited 17 Holtdale Way,Adel, Leeds, West Yorkshire LS167SJ United Kingdom.
    The company address has now been verified on Google page and the company domain http://www.damptreatments.com/ is showing up on Google search,Google images,Google maps,Facebook, at last after pasting and copying the link from Bizwiki into my website.
